Dear Visitor,
Kindly acknowledge the information on the this page before visiting VFS Global for visa application.

All applicants must fully comply with relevant documentation required for respective visa categories. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Therefore, before visiting Visa Application Centre, applicants are requested for their kind cooperation in making sure that the recommended documents are provided and sorted out as per the checklist.

1.In order to schedule an appointment for Greece Visa Application Center, please visit https://www.vfsglobal.com/Greece/Iran/ and follow the instructions in Schedule an Appointment section.
• Applicants need to be present at the Visa Application Center not earlier than 15 minutes before and not later than 45 minutes after their scheduled appointment time.
• Applicants can submit both short term (Type C) and long term (Type D) visa applications at the visa center.

A) Visa Type C (Short term visa)
1. The required documents are listed in the Required Documents section at https://www.vfsglobal.com/Greece/Iran/

2. Visa application form must be filled in English.

3. In cases of children below 18 years old, the application form has to be signed by both parents. If the minor travels with only one parent, the consent of the parental authority done by a notary public along with its translation are required. If the minor travels without the father, providing certified translation of father’s birth certificate as well as a copy of his passport is mandatory.

4. The reservation dates of the hotel, flight ticket, and travel insurance duration should overlap each other.
• Travel insurance with minimum coverage of 30.000 Euros for the entire period of the intended stay is required.

5. Applicants must provide
• hotel reservation(s) with dates and destination(s) matching those of the application. Full contact details of the hotel should be included.
• flight reservation(s) a) with a departure date no earlier than 15 days from the application day and b) covering all intended flights (domestic or international)
• If reservations have been made by a travel agency, the agency needs to have them officially stamped.

6. Invitation Letter
• In case the applicant is invited by a person, the invitation should be officially legalized by the Greek Police. Copy of the ID (in case of a Greek citizen) or the residence permit (in case of a non-Greek citizen staying in Greece) should be attached. Full contact details of the applicant should be included.
• In case the applicant is invited by a company/ law office/ university etc., the invitation should be written in the form of a formal letter and officially stamped and signed. Full contact details of the applicant should be included.

7. All required documents/ letters/ certificates etc. should be in English. Translations should be verified by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Justice.

8. Certificate of Financial Ability and bank account statement of the last 3 months must be issued no earlier than a week before the appointment.

9. Work Certificate
• Employees are requested to provide employment letter which must be issued no earlier than a month before the appointment, and has to include a) the length of the contract (together with expiry date, which should be at least three months after the end of the requested visa), b) the applicant’s salary, c) the applicant’s current position, d) no objection to leave of absence from the employer (with dates and destination matching those of the application).
• Full contact details of the employer’s company, its unique National Identification Number (“shenaseh melli”) and the announcement of its establishment in the government gazette should be included.
• For official and government employees in whose employment letter being “official or government employee” is included, ending date of contract is not required to be included in the letter. For employees with an unlimited contract, the word “unlimited” must be included in the letter.
• Company managers, CEOs, members of the board and shareholders are requested to provide: a) a letter from the company stating the applicant’s income and position, together with b) the company constitution or its announcement in the government gazette. Full contact details of the employer’s company its unique National Identification Number (“shenaseh melli”) should be included.
• Students are requested to provide proof of enrolment in the current academic year of the school/ university they are currently studying
• Self-employed applicants are required to provide a valid work license along with its certified translation.
• Pensioners are requested to provide either pension certificate or order of pension.
• Medical doctors are required to provide Medical license along with its certified translation.
• Lawyers are required to provide their license to practice law.

Fees
Visa Fee and VFS Global Service Fee are applicable per application.
The fees are as following:
• Visa Fee for applicants above 12 years old: 26,080,000 Rials
• Visa Fee for applicants below 12 years old: Free
The applicable visa fees are in Euro but payable in Rials (Bank Card).
Each applicant shall be charged a service charge of Euro 27 per application in addition to the visa fees.
All fees are non-refundable.
Visa Waiver:
The visa fee shall be waived for applicants belonging to one of the following categories:
Family members of Greek/EU citizens;
Holders of diplomatic and service passports;
school pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training;
researchers from third countries travelling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research as defined in Recommendation No 2005/761/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 September 2005 to facilitate the issue by the Member States of uniform short-stay visas for researchers from third countries travelling within the Community for the purpose of carrying out scientific research;
representatives of non-profit organizations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations.

B) Long Term Visa
Required documents for long term visa application are as following:
1. Medical Certificate which must be issued and stamped by a government hospital no earlier than a month before the application

2. Police Clearance Certificate which must be issued no earlier than a month before the application

3. Travel Insurance Certificate (a) valid for all Schengen countries or Greece only, b) a multiple insurance covering 365 days, c) with a coverage of no less than €30,000)

4. Birth Certificate of the family head along with its certified translation as well as his/her employment letter
• In case of providing the certified translation of family head’s birth certificate, the translation of birth certificate of the other members of family is not required.

5. Long term visa applicants are not required to provide proof of enrolment.

Legalization:

To get the required documents Legalized from Greece Embassy in Tehran, Iran now all the applicants from Islamic Republic of Iran can submit their documents at VFS Tehran Greece Application Center.
Please note:
The documents issued by the authorities of Islamic republic of Iran must first be translated & authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Department of Justice. Only after they may be submitted at VFS office in Tehran.
The Translation and Verification stamps should not be older than 3 months on the date of submission.
*In the case of PCCs (Police Clearance Certificates), the Translation and the mentioned stamps should not be older than 1 month
The Legalization and submission must be requested either by the document holder or legal representative with Authorization letter from the original document Holder. In case of a representative, the person delivering the documents must hold personal identification, copy of the identification of the applicant and Authorization Letter signed by the applicant.

Neither the Greece Embassy in Tehran, Iran nor does VFS Global guarantees that the submitted documents will be Legalized. All VFS fees are Non-refundable.

Certificate(Visa, Residence Permit and Blue Attestation):

To get the Certificate (Residence Permit and Blue Attestation) from Greece Embassy in Tehran, Iran now all the applicants from Islamic Republic of Iran can submit their documents at VFS Tehran Greece Application Center.
Please Note below documents should be submitted:
Ticket Reservation
Original Passport
Original Expired Residence Permit. The Expiry date of the residence Permit should be between 01 December 2019 & 31 December 2020.
Application should be submitted at VFS at-least 10 days prior from the date of intended travel.
Document Legalizations & Certificate (, Residence Permit and Blue Attestation) are accepted on Sundays to Thursday between 08:00 and 14:00 (There is no need for appointments)

Kindly be informed that :
An Iranian Citizen who has applied in Greece for Renewal of his/ her Residence permit or has a Fingerprint appointment in Greece for his/ her Residence permit applicant should apply for a Visa. Certificate will not be issued in such cases.

VFS Global Service Charge
Applicants applying at the Greece Visa Application Centre in Tehran for Legalization or Certificate for Expired Residence Permit shall be levied a Service Charge of 10 Euros per document/ Certificate (Inclusive of all taxes) payable in Cash at Greece Visa application Center Tehran.
Please Note:
The applicable Legalization fees are in Euro but payable in Rials (Bank Card).
The applicable visa fee in Iranian Rials is as per the current Embassy exchange rate. The same is subject to change without notice.
The fee is non-refundable.
There is an Optional SMS facility available at 4/- Euros per application.
There is an optional Courier Facility available at 10 Euros per application Inside Tehran and 14 Euros per application outside Tehran.

Visa Fee and VFS Global Service Fee are applicable per application. The fees are as following:

• The applicable visa fees are in Euro but payable in Rials (Bank Card).
• Each applicant shall be charged a service charge of Euro 27 per application in addition to the visa fees.
• All fees are non-refundable.

Important Information:

-Appointments are mandatory for all applications. Applicants cannot walk into the Visa Application Centre without a prior valid appointment under any circumstances.
To confirm your appointment, you would have to pay an amount of IRR 2,000,000 which will be refunded in full in your Bank Account when you honor the appointment and validly submit your application. Applications will not be accepted if the appointment is booked under the wrong visa category and the booking amount will not be refunded.
Appointments once booked cannot be cancelled. However, you are allowed to reschedule your appointment once at no additional cost and up to 2 working days prior to your scheduled date (subject to availability of appointments). The applicant has to schedule a new appointment in case of any additional rescheduling, no-show or if submitted documents were incomplete/not available/incomplete submission for any reason on the allotted date. Where the booking fee will be payable and no refund available on the previous amount paid.
Appointments scheduled after 1400 Hrs. will be treated as Prime Time Appointment and would be charged 45 Euros extra over and above the Service Fees.

-Please note that the hotel booking must be valid until the day of your entry to Greece.
The Consular Authority reserves the right to revoke a visa when it becomes evident that the conditions for issuing it are no longer met.

-Courier return of passports made mandatory for Greece visa customers in Tehran Effective 12th July 2020, in light of the COVID-19 alert and keeping in mind the health and safety of our customers and employees, the courier service for return of passports to Greece visa customers in Tehran has been made mandatory.
Customers no longer need to visit the Visa Application Centre to pick up their passport. Once ready for collection, the passport will be couriered to their location of choice (serviceable by our courier partner, Aramex and TNT).
Courier fees of Euro 10 per application (inside Tehran) and Euro 14 per application (outside Tehran) will apply.
The courier service has been made mandatory for a temporary period to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus and reduce the footfall at the Visa Application Centre.
