All applicants must fully comply with relevant documentation required for respective visa categories. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Therefore, before visiting Visa Application Centre, applicants are requested for their kind cooperation in making sure that the recommended documents are provided and sorted out as per the checklist.
1.In order to schedule an appointment for Austria Visa Application Center, please visit https://www.vfsglobal.com/Austria/Iran/ and follow the instructions in Schedule an Appointment section.
• Applicants need to be present at the Visa Application Center not earlier than 15 minutes before and not later than 45 minutes after their scheduled appointment time.
2. The required documents for any type of visa -such as Tourism and Family Visit, are listed in the Check List section at https://www.vfsglobal.com/Austria/Iran/
3. The reservation dates of the hotel (completely paid), flight ticket, and travel insurance duration should overlap each other.
• Travel insurance must be originally stamped by the insurance company.
• Multiple Entry visa demands Multiple insurances.
• Travel insurance with minimum coverage of 30.000 Euros for the whole of your stay is required
• Insurances issued by the following companies are acceptable:
Razi, Parsian, Dana, Kar Afarin, Mihan, Homa, Pasargad, Saman, Alborz, Arman, Asia, Iran, Kowsar, Mellat, Novin, Sina, and Tose’e. The insurance needs to be singed and stamped or issued online.
4. Translation of documents are only valid for 6 months.
5. Applicant’s photo must be no older than 6 months, showing both edges of face clearly and keep a proportion of 3.5 x 4.5 (width x height). In case of having a visa issued within the last 6 months, a newly taken photo is required.
6. Applicants need to provide copies of a) travel insurance, b) the first page of passport, and c) any Schengen, Canada, America, England, and Australia visa that has been issued within the last 3 years.
7. All required documents must be officially translated into German. The stamps of Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs are not required. Documents originally in English language are not required to be translated into German.
8. Applicants are requested to provide a clear printout of the application form in English or German. The application form must be completed without fail and filled out with capital letters. Correction pen should not be used.
9. Certificate of Financial Ability and bank account statement of the last 6 months must be issued no earlier than a week before the appointment.
10. Employment Letters must include employee’s position, salary, employment start date, and leave entitlement. Managers, board members, and shareholders need to provide the announcement of establishment of the company in the government gazette.
11. Invitation Letters must include inviting person’s details and signature as well as applicant’s details. In cases of minors, the application form has to be signed by both parents. If the minor travels with only one parent, the consent of the parental authority done by a notary public along with the translation are required.
12. Applicants must possess a passport that is valid for at least three months (90 days) after the date of exit from Schengen Area.
13. Before applying for a visa, applicants need to make sure of their intended visa type and travel itinerary; otherwise, they may face repercussions. The intended date of travel should not be sooner than 21 days and not later than 3 months after visa application.
Visa Application Fee:
Austria Visa Application fee is as the following:
• For adults: 80 Euros
• For 6 to 12 year-old children: 40 Euros
• For children below 6 years: Free
• VFS Global Service Fee: 40 Euros per application

We assure you that each Thursday afternoon (resp. Wednesday if Thursday is an Iranian holiday) new appointments will be available every week and all applicants will have the same opportunities.
