Kindly acknowledge the information on this page before visiting VFS Global for visa application.

All applicants must fully comply with relevant documentation required for respective visa categories. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Therefore, before visiting Visa Application Centre, applicants are requested for their kind cooperation in making sure that the recommended documents are provided and sorted out as per the checklist.

1.In order to schedule an appointment for Portugal Visa Application Center, please visit https://www.vfsglobal.com/Portugal/Iran/ and follow the instructions in Schedule an Appointment section.
• Applicants need to be present at the Visa Application Center not earlier than 15 minutes before and not later than 45 minutes after their scheduled appointment time.

2. Applicants are requested to schedule an appointment for Portugal Visa Application Center not later than 15 days before their intended date of travel.

3. All stamped travel insurances as well as travel insurances bought online are acceptable.
• Having minimum coverage of 30.000 Euros, your travel insurance should cover you during the whole of your stay in the Schengen area.
• In case of having only one original copy of travel insurance, you need to provide a copy of the same to the Visa Application Center.

4. The reservation dates of hotel, ticket as well as entry and exit dates from Schengen area should overlap each other.
The intended date of travel and hotel reservation should not be later than 90 days after submitting application at the Visa Center.

5. All required documents have to be officially translated into English and applicants need to provide copies of translations.
Translation of documents has to be stamped by Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

6. Visa Fee and VFS Global Service Fee are applicable per application. The fees are as following:
• Visa Fee: 80 Euros
• VFS Global Service Fee: 32 Euros

7. Invitation Letters must be provided in “Termo de Responsabili dade” letterhead and be signed and stamped by the inviting person.

8. Providing the original copy of invitation letter is mandatory. In cases of children below 18 years old, travelling alone or with only one parent, the consent of the parental authority done by a notary public is required.

9. All documentations and copies must be in A4 size.

10. Applicants are requested to provide bank account statement and Certificate of Financial Ability issued within the last 3 months.

Required Documentations:

• For employees:
a) Translation of pay slips of the latest 3 months, b) Translation of Social Security insurance, Health Services insurance, or any other insurance that covers the employee at work.
• For employers, managers and shareholders:
Translations of business license, the announcement of establishment of the company in the government gazette, insurance records, or list of employees’ pay slips
• For artists:
a) Documents issued by official associations (Khaneh Cinema, Khaneh Akasan, etc.) b) Translation of Social Security insurance or Health Services insurance
• For retirees:
Documents related to Pensionary
• For school students and university students:
Enrollment certificate issued by respective institute

Important Information:

-Please be informed that effective 15th May 2022 Portugal Embassy will start accepting all Schengen Visa applications on Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays. You are requested to schedule your appointment as per your category. If an appointment is booked under wrong category then the applications will not be accepted.

-Appointments are mandatory for all applications. Applicants cannot walk into the Visa Application Centre without a prior valid appointment under any circumstances.
To confirm your appointment, you would have to pay an amount of IRR 2,000,000 which will be refunded in full in bank account when you honour the appointment and validly submit your application. Applications will not be accepted if the appointment is booked under the wrong visa category and the booking amount will not be refunded.
Appointments once booked cannot be cancelled. However, you are allowed to reschedule your appointment twice at no additional cost and up to 2 working days prior to your scheduled date (subject to availability of appointments). The applicant has to schedule a new appointment in case of any additional rescheduling, no-show or if submitted documents were incomplete/not available/incomplete submission for any reason on the allotted date. Where the booking fee will be payable and no refund available on the previous amount paid.
Appointments scheduled from 1400 Hrs. will be treated as Prime Time Appointment and would be charged 40 Euros extra over and above the Service Fees.
