All applicants must fully comply with relevant documentation required for respective visa categories. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Therefore, before visiting Visa Application Centre, applicants are requested for their kind cooperation in making sure that the recommended documents are provided and sorted out as per the checklist.
1.In order to schedule an appointment for South Africa Visa Application Center, please visit https://www.vfsglobal.com/southafrica/Iran/ and follow the instructions in Schedule an Appointment section.
• Applicants need to be present at the Visa Application Center not earlier than 15 minutes before and not later than 45 minutes after their scheduled appointment time.
2. The reservation dates of the hotel, flight ticket, and travel insurance duration should overlap each other.
• Travel insurance with minimum coverage of 30.000 Euros for the whole of your stay is required
• Travel insurance must be originally stamped by the insurance company. The stamp is not required for the insurances issued online.
3. Valid passport which expires in no less than 30 days after expiry of the intended date of departure from the Republic.
4. Two photos that keep a proportion of 3 x 4 (width x height) on the back of which the first name, last name and date of birth of applicant are written in English
5. Copy of passport and copy of any previously granted visa of South Africa
6. Certificate of Financial Ability and bank account statement of the last 3 months issued no earlier than a week from the appointment
7. Medical Certificate in the required format which is issued, stamped and dated by a hospital and includes the contact details and address of the hospital
8. A radiological report issued, stamped and dated by a radiologist
• The report must include the contact details and address of the hospital or clinic.
• Chest radiograph of applicant must be attached to the report except for pregnant women and children below 12 years old.
9. Certified translation of birth certificate or any other document indicating marital status of the applicant verified by Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• In case all marriage records are documented in birth certificate, generally the certified translation of birth certificate is enough to be handed in.
10. If the applicant has a spousal relationship to a South African citizen or resident, marriage certificate as well as a copy of the document must be provided.
• In case of not having access to the original copy of marriage certificate, its copy must be verified, signed and stamped by Commissioner of Oath or South Africa Police. Verification must have been issued in the latest 3 months.
11. Police clearance certificates for applicants above 18 years old, in respect of all countries where person resided one year or longer since having attained the age of 18
• The certificate must be officially translated into English and verified by Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Justice.
• Police clearance certificates issued in Iran are only valid for 1 month.
• Police clearance certificates issued in South Africa are valid for 6 months.
• The expiry date of police clearance certificates issued in other countries is indicated in the certificate (usually valid for 3 months).
12. In cases of minors, the application form has to be signed by both parents. If the minor travels with only one parent, the consent of the parental authority done by a notary public along with the translation is required.
• The consent must be verified by Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Justice.
• If the parent has been issued with a court order granting full or specific parental responsibilities and rights, the consent of the other parent is not required. Please note that the court order must be a) verified by Ministries of Justice and Foreign Affairs and, b) Officially translated into English
POST – DOC Visa
1. Complete and sign visa application Form (DHA-84) in BLACK ink only.
2. Admission or invitation letter issued, signed and stamped by the learning center (university, school, or institute)
• The letter must include applicant’s details (name, surname, and passport number), period of stay, and accommodation
3. Travel insurance (for minimum one year) issued by insurance companies located in South Africa
Critical Skills Visa

In case the applicant has been already accepted by an employer:
1. A written undertaking by the employer accepting responsibility for the costs
related to the deportation of the applicant and his or her dependent family
members, should it become necessary.
2. A written undertaking by the employer to ensure that the passport of his or
her employee is valid at all times for the duration of his or her employment.
3. A confirmation, in writing, from the professional body, council or board
recognized by SAQA. For more explanation, refer to the section related to Critical Skills Work Visa on page 95.

Retired Person’s Visa
1. Complete and sign long-term visa application Form in BLACK ink only.
2. Financial documents indicating applicant’s monthly income which has to be equal to 37.000 Rand (South Africa Currency)
• The documents include pension fund, monthly received rent, and long-term bank deposit in the document of which the amount of monthly interest of the deposit is mentioned
3. Travel insurance (for minimum one year) issued by insurance companies located in South Africa
Important Information:
-This center has been moved to the new address of 4th floor, Heravi Center, Heravi Square, Mousavi Street (5 Golestan), Tehran, Iran.
-Courier return of passports made mandatory for South Africa visa customers in Tehran
Effective 27 January 2021, in light of the COVID-19 alert and keeping in mind the health and safety of our customers and employees, the courier service for return of passports to South Africa visa customers in Tehran has been made mandatory.
Customers no longer need to visit the Visa Application Centre to pick up their passport. Once ready for collection, the passport will be couriered to their location of choice (serviceable by our courier partner, Aramex & TNT).
Courier fees of Euro 7 per application (inside Tehran) and Euro 10 per application (outside Tehran) will apply.
The courier service has been made mandatory for a temporary period to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus and reduce the footfall at the Visa Application Centre.
We will post an update on this page when the courier service is made optional again.
-Appointments scheduled after 14:00 Hrs. will be treated as Prime Time Appointment and would be charged 40 Euros extra over and above the Service Fees.
-The new tariffs for visa fees are as listed below. You will have to pay the Visa fee at the Visa Application Centre in Through Bank Card (Rials) and Vfs Fee at Visa application Center Through Cash(Euro).

- The applicable visa fee in Iranian Rial is as per the current exchange rate. It is subject to change without notice due to sudden foreign exchange fluctuations.
- Applicant shall be charged a service fee of Euro 57 per application in addition to the visa fees and must be paid in cash.
